Pour Me Primo Pink Pack
Well, if you didn't break your brain reading the name of this pack, bravo! Any chance at alliteration from us here. Pink wine is the best wine, in our humble opinion. When it's good, oh it's good. These wines are a mix of classics, but then some really interesting mind-bending takes on the style. If you like your wines aromatic, crunchy and with a tinge of blush, you're going to fall to pieces for this one. Drink on!
Clos Cibonne Tibouren Rosé 2019
At just 800m from the ocean, this 15ha vineyard sits in prime real estate for producing world-class pink wines. The Roux family have farmed this place since grandfather André Roux put down vines in the 1930s. These elite Rosés are made predominantly from the local variety, Tibouren, which is ideal for producing crisp, textural Rosé and fascinating lighter-bodied reds. They grow 40% of the world's Tibouren, they know what they're doing. Turn your understanding of Provence on it's head, with this gorgeous wine.
Brian "Oregon Gris" 2019
The trio of Peter Dredge, Joe Holyman and Mike Bennie were lured to the incredible biodynamic wonderland of Keeler Estate (nearly two decades certified, unirrigated, no sprays at all, set between regenerated oak savannah and wetlands) to make a bit of wine. They went a bit deeper than they thought, whoops, and ended up mirroring the wines from Brian Tasmania in Willamette Valley, Oregon. This one is gris, as per Tasmania, with extended skin fermentation. Here, a couple of months on skins, raised on old barrels on lees, bottled unfined and unfiltered. It's brilliantly fresh with heaps of chewy, chalky texture, intense savoury fruitiness and all up just killer drinking. (Notes from P&V Merchants, seeing as Bennie helped make it, he knows best!) Important note that this is 750mL.
VHS Wines "Devil's Sympathy #004" 2019
A single barrel assemblage of Pinot Gris from the man, the myth, Sam Smith. This wine is for cult followers of the VHS selection and sadly, due to bushfires, we may never see fruit from this vineyard again. There were only 400 bottles made too! It is a heavily macerated Pinot Gris, 22 months, full of blood oranges, campari, pink lady apples, heady, woozy, intoxicating spices. What a ride! It's as wild as it is enjoyable. Lean in.
Gazzetta "Rosa Trilli" Vino Bianco 2019
Trish made this! She's Aussie, but lives and breathes Lazio these days. This rosato is a roughly even blend of white (Procanico) and red (Sangiovese) grapes that spent five days fermenting on the skins, before being pressed off to vat until May. A gorgeous, deep ruby, it really impresses with its little red fruits, fine tannins and a big whack of roasted oranges and cherries. Wow!
